Services are provided in the client’s home, at our clinics, at schools, and community sites to suit individual needs.
Crisis intervention is also available when needed for TLC clients. TLC recognizes that a crisis may present at any point. A 24 hour crisis line is available and clients are screened to determine an appropriate intervention. This intervention may involve the development of a safety plan or transport to a more restrictive environment such as a hospital or other behavioral care facility. The crisis line is not a substitute for 911.

The stressors of today present many circumstances of which families could benefit from additional support. The Logan Centers, Inc provides family therapy to address the specific concerns, needs, and strengths of the family to achieve higher levels of content, stability, and functioning. Family therapy can also help to reinforce skills learned in individual therapy as they relate to the family dynamic.

Recognizing that other people just like you and me also face similar challenges and circumstances, group therapy may also be an important part of the intervention plan. The meeting together of likeminded individuals, where additional support is gained and sharing of experiences are processed, often prove very meaningful components in the therapeutic process.

Individual therapy is provided by a licensed mental health provider in a variety of settings including home, office, school and tele-health to facilitate delivery of services to accommodate client needs. Evidence based practices are utilized to assist individuals in meeting their life goals and to provide support for facing life’s many challenges. With the Covid-19 pandemic, many mental health issues have been exacerbated along with adjustments and changes in biopsychosocial functioning. Individual therapy can help one adjust to changes in mental and physical health status, identity issues, grief and loss of a loved one, or other stressors. Feelings of depression, anxiety, and trauma are all treated by the TLC team. Changes in social or occupational functioning are also areas of concern that may warrant intervention through individual therapy. Children and adolescents face considerable stress in today’s world. Providing children and adolescents with the support they need to thrive while living and learning in the community is of utmost importance. Some children may need to address ADHD to promote and achieve better learning. Regretfully, many children are exposed to environments where violence, abuse, neglect, substance abuse, parental discord, divorce, toxic stress, poverty, exposure to crime, lack of preventative health care, and other negative events are experienced. These are known as adverse childhood experiences (ACES) and affect mental health. Children need support and intervention to process associated feelings and experiences in order to attain better outcomes.

All clients meet at least once a year with a TLC staff psychiatrist to evaluate overall mental health and assess medication needs. Based upon individual needs, medication management may be provided. Frequency of visits for medication management is determined on an individual basis.

At times, clients may benefit from additional biopsychosocial support. When warranted, a Qualified Behavioral Health Provider (QBHP) will work in alignment with the licensed mental health provider as part of the team. The QBHP is available to meet with the client, parent, or other relevant system such as school personnel to assist the client in attaining their individual goals. The individual life skills may address and explore coping with stressors, enhancement of self worth and concept, regulating one’s emotions, learning to function independently in the community, improved self care, improved diet, healthy habits, interacting with others, how to attain employment, linkage with resources and management of resources and other skills. QBHP services are a valuable supportive supplement and enhancement to individual therapy.
